Goal of the Corporate Risk Trading Function in Vattenfall’s Business Unit Trading is to actively reduce risks (xVA, liquidity, credit & ESG) on group level and to improve working capital usage in trading activities, i.a. via doing commodity transactions that optimize the overall exchange and OTC position

For our Business Area Markets we are now looking for a

Working Student – Data Science / Financial Modelling

for our office in Hamburg.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will be supporting the Corporate Risk Trading Function in:

  • Conducting commercially relevant quantitative analyses
  • Further developing and automating routines, procedures, and applications for analysis-related information and data flows
  • Visualizing data and analyses in dashboards
  • Perform market / competitor analysis
  • Support in ad hoc tasks

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and talented student who wants to gain experience in the commodity business and data science field with a challenging and changeable student job within a leading company in its field.

Job site is our office in the city center of Hamburg but working from home is also possible to a certain extend.


 

Ihr Profil


 

  • Student enrolled in a quantitative subject like data science, statistics, computer science, business, economics, (financial-) mathematics – with a remaining duration of studies of at least 1 year
  • Good data science, statistical, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work with large, complex data sets
  • Entrepreneurial mindset to enjoy working in a newly found function with no beaten paths and where the best opinion wins
  • Knowledge of energy markets advantageous but not required
  • Good English language skills (both written and spoken)
  • Result oriented, independent working method with readiness to take on responsibility
  • Eagerness to learn and share gained knowledge


 

Zusätzliche Informationen


 

  • Start date: as soon as possible
  • Working hours: up to 20 hours/week during university term, up to 40 hours/week during term breaks.
  • Duration: minimum 6 months to a year
